What is a Surety Bond?

Simply stated, a surety bond is a three-party arrangement between the Obligee, the Principal and the Surety. It is an instrument used by the surety company to guarantee to the Obligee that a principal will perform an obligation or contract. Surety bonds provide financial security and ensure that all financial obligations will be paid and all agreed upon services will be rendered.
